Red Rose Hygienics is a trading name of Brian Worthington Embalming Service Ltd. We are a family run company providing the funeral profession with a quality embalming service since 1999. Brian started out working for McKenna funerals at Meadow Street in the Preston area, then within the first month, McKenna Funerals in Blackurn, The Warren and Brethertons in Leyland started to use his service. The work load was increasing gradually and before long a funeral director from the Bolton area who was visiting McKenna’s at the time asked if he would be happy to embalm for them. Six months on, Brian’s wife Julie joined the company on a full time basis to assist with the embalming. Other funeral homes in the Bolton area got to here about them and before long was also using their service, ie Hardmans, Worthingtons, Shaws and Relphs funeral Directors, then Farnworth Coop was added to the client list. As the years went by the company name had spread across most of the North West with more funeral homes using Brian and Julie’s service. Brian Worthington Embalming Service became a limited company in 2016. Seventeen years of working for the Coop funeral homes slowly came to a holt, due to the new polices within the Coop’s plans. The era of the super mortuary had begun and hubs where situated in each major area in which all the embalming would be done in house by their own full time embalmers. So with the clients mainly consisting of Coop, Brian decided to send out letters to independant funeral homes in the areas with a growing success rate the company was soon back to strength. Brian & Julie’s son Ben joined the the team in 2019, immediately enrolling onto the embalming course. Ben Passed all of his exams and became a fully qualified member of the BIE in April 2023. The company started trading as Red Rose Hygienics in 2020, so that they could have some sort of corporate branding that would not look out of place wearing workware with the company logo in public etc.
